The implications of modern companies like Microsoft messing up appear to be minimal, which is a peculiar kind of forgiveness. A minor, major but certainly real "outage", or whatever you wish to call it, that halted technology operations on January 4 had no effect on the technology monster's share price; in fact, the equities rose. What an amazing business: you can mess up and you are still loved, it's like capitalism has turned over a new leaf and found a nice side.
