People: Mizuho adds to equity derivatives' Americas team
Mizuho has hired Arunesh Hari as head of equity derivatives, Americas, in New York. Hari will be responsible for Mizuho's new corporate derivatives desk with responsibility for capital raising and financing, and reports to Matthew DeSalvo, head of equities. Hari joins the Japanese bank from Velocity Capital, where he was head of trading and portfolio management. Before joining Velocity, Hari worked at Citi as a managing director on the equity derivatives desk for over four years. Hari joined Citi from Morgan Stanley, where he was a managing director in equity derivatives. Hari's appointment follows that of George Nikitiadis, who joined in October as head of program trading, and Lindsey Burik, executive director, head of electronic trading. Nikitiadis role is also newly created, based in New York and reporting to DeSalvo.
