Structured products issuance in South Korean market decreased by 12% in August, compared to the previous month, with 997 products issued in the retail segment alone (a drop of 23%). Sales volumes at KRW6.07 trillion (US$5.42 billion) were down 18% from KRW7.43 trillion.

One hundred and sixteen products were withdrawn early in August as they did not manage to attract enough sales – 90 of these were in the retail segment with the remaining 26 private placements – a 18% decrease compared to the previous month.
