The number of structured products offered to French retail investors continued to increase, rising from 870 in January-August 2018 to 1,070 in the same period this year.

However, while the supply side is quite active, the average total amount collected per product is falling. The latter figure declined from €12.35m in 2018 to €9.07m in 2019, according to SRP data. Despite the drop in new sales volumes in 2019 year-to-date, at €11.27m, the total outstanding volume of structured products in circulation grew to an estimated €57.9 billion at the time of writing this review compared with €54.6 billion in 2018 (up six percent in one year).
