The Russell 2000 index has seen a revival in 2021 with an increase in issuance year on year as sales have more than doubled compared to 2020.

Year-to-date, the Russell 2000 index has featured in the US top 10 underlying ranking as part of a basket of indices comprising the Nasdaq 100 and S&P 500 indices (1,523 products/US$4.7 billion), and in the top 20 as part of a basket alongside the S&P 500 index (847 products/US$1.9 billion). SRP data shows that no FTSE Russell index appeared in the US top 20 underlying ranking during the same period of 2020 with the Russell 2000 appearing in 1,373 products worth US$2.3 billion alongside
