The Italian market is on track to book its first positive result since 2019 as protected participation notes thrive in 9M 2022.

Some 1,912 structured products worth an estimated €9.4 billion (US$9.7 billion) were issued in the Italian market during the first nine months of 2022 – a 5.3% increase by sales volume from the prior year period (9M 2021: €8.9 billion from 1,873 products). Average volumes, at €4.9m per product, were also up, albeit slightly, compared to 9M 2021 when products sold on average €4.8m. After an almost all time high in 2019, when €18m was collected from 1,478 products
