South Korea’s Financial Supervisory Service (FSS) is planning to send out inspection reports sometime this week to local banks that sold the embattled equity-linked securities (ELS) products linked to the Hong Kong China Enterprise Index, according to local media reports Monday (8 April). FSS officials will demand formal responses from the banks regarding the reports. There will also be sanction measures and the review committee could be held as early as next month, local media reported.
