Barclays has launched a note for UK financial advisers providing exposure to FTSE's Xinhua 25 index.
China Optimiser is a six-year uncapped call offering 65% participation in the positive performance of the underlying.
Vice president Lisa Chaudhuri said China has long been the darling of emerging market growth, but more recently some industry experts have questioned how inflation will be managed there. "Our new China Optimiser helps investors to mitigate these risks to the downside, whilst remaining positioned for positive performance," she said.
Since 2006, Barclays has launched a number of products linked to the FTSE Xinhua 25 index as part of a basket and on its own in the China Supertracker Investment Note from Barclays Stockbrokers marketed in January 2007. The last UK retail product to offer access to this index was RBS’s China Bear Super Tracker, launched in February last year.
China Optimiser will be available for subscription until 8 April. Minimum investment is £5,100
