Aviva životní pojišťovna, which was acquired by international insurance company MetLife in January 2012, has changed its name to MetLife as part of the integration into its new parent firm.
The name change came into effect on 31 August and from now on Czech investors will recognise Aviva životní pojišťovna as MetLife pojišťovna. The company has previously marketed five products among retail investors under the Aviva Royal brand with an estimated value of CZK450m (€18.5m).
The underlying structured bond for the first four tranches was issued by Société Générale, while the last issue, launched in October 2011, was issued by JPMorgan Chase.
MetLife's product development specialist, Ivana Blahova, told SRP that the firm is not planning any new products in the near future as market conditions are not favourable for them. Instead, it will focus on more traditional insurance policies.
MetLife has also acquired Aviva's branches in Romania and Hungary.
