The global markets and financial advisory firm StormHarbour Securities has hired Magnus Orgard as a managing director in its client solutions team in London.
Orgard joins in a newly created position and will be in charge of Scandinavian origination and sales. He has 19 years of institutional banking experience in capital markets, including structured finance, commodities, equity derivatives, credit and alternative asset classes.
Most recently Orgard was at Banque AIG as a managing director of Nordic marketing, focused on alternative assets, bank regulatory capital and commodity and equity derivative distribution. He reported to David Behan and Jim Kowalishin, managing directors for marketing to Nordic Europe, the UK and the Netherlands.
Prior to this, he was European head of solutions and derivative sales at WestLB. In the 1990s Orgard worked in capital markets and derivatives marketing to the Nordic region at NatWest and BNP Paribas. He started his banking career at Bank of America in 1990.
Orgard confirmed the appointment and responsibilities but declined to disclose his reporting lines.
In addition, StormHarbour has announced four senior appointments in Singapore, including Sandeep S. Gill and Barry E. Dick, who join StormHarbour as principal and managing director respectively. Gill will be responsible for the firm's structuring activities across the Asia Pacific, while Dick will oversee its product offerings in the region. He was previously head of fixed-income sales at Merrill Lynch for Asia, ex-Japan.
Martin Otway and Nicholas Loh have also joined the firm as directors. Previously Otway was treasurer and head of credit trading for UniCredit in Singapore, while Loh was previously at the law firm Legal21, based in Singapore.
