National Australia Bank’s nabCapital is offering wholesale investors its first sustainable-themed structured notes.
Capital’s Sustainable Notes Series 2008-11 are 3.25-year notes that provide full capital protection and offer income linked to 20 ASX-listed companies selected for their corporate governance and sustainable business practices. The notes also offer a fixed coupon of 4% and investors may receive additional interest payments should the sustainable portfolio perform well.“Our first issuance of sustainable notes enables investors to gain from the underlying financial performance of those Australian companies that demonstrate sound governance and management of environmental and social factors,” said chief executive of nabCapital John Hooper.
The notes will be issued by the bank’s Script Securitisation vehicle for a minimum $500,000. The offer is expected to run until 7 March 2008.
