Maybank is offering Singapore investors Alpha Structured Deposit, a four-year capital-guaranteed Shariah-compliant deposit that returns up to 28% depending on the outperformance of a basket of shares over the S&P500.The strategy also has a guaranteed income of 0.5% pa. The stocks will be chosen from the healthcare and energy sectors.
“There is a demand for structured deposit products which are capital-guaranteed. For the Alpha Structured Deposit, we have gone one step further to make sure that even in the worst-case scenario, investors can look forward to a minimum return,” said Maybank's head of Islamic banking Mohd Ismail Hussein.
The product is available for a minimum investment of S$10,000 (€2,972).
