Société Générale has launched two new equity-linked certificates in the UK, aimed at offering investors exposure to UK and US equity market volatility as well as any potential nearside recovery in the UK equity market.
The SG77 UK and US Equity Income Certificate is a five-year growth product linked to a basket of indices (the FTSE100 and the S&P500). The product, which has been designed to provide an opportunity to extract enhanced yields from the currently volatile environment in the UK and US equity markets, offers full capital protection at maturity provided neither index has fallen by 50% or more. The certificate offers a fixed 10.5% coupon paid annually in arrears, irrespective of equity market performance. If, at any point during the five-year term, either index falls by 50% or more, capital is eroded on a 1:1 basis.
The SG78 FTSE100 Double Upside Accelerator has been designed to benefit from short term recovery in the UK equity market, says Soc Gen. The one-year capped call offers 200% the rise of the FTSE100, capped at 30%, with full capital protection provided the index has not fallen by 50% or more at maturity.
Both structured products are listed on the London Stock Exchange denominated in British sterling. The initial offer period for SG77 and SG78 will run until 19 December. Minimum investment is £1,000.
