UBS has appointed Carsten Kengeter as co-CEO of its investment bank, alongside Alex Wilmot-Sitwell after Jerker Johansson resigned from the role. A UBS spokesperson confirmed that Kengeter will retain his role as joint head of fixed income, currencies and commodities (FICC), alongside Jeff Mayer. Kengeter joined UBS in September 2008 and was the joint global head of FICC, which includes the relevant structured products business.
