The senior executive will join the US bank in July after seven years at Deutsche Bank.

Citi has appointed James Carolan as managing director, global head of FX structuring & solutions based in New York, effective from July, according to a spokesperson for the bank. Carolan joins from Deutsche Bank where he held various roles including head of North Americas corporate macro structuring, global head of deal contingent structuring, and global head of institutional FX structuring over a course of seven years. In his new role, Carolan will report to Flavio Figueiredo, global head
