Société Générale Corporate & Investment Banking (CIB) has announced the appointment of Marc Saffon as group country head for Japan, effective 1 September 2026.

Based in Japan,  Saffon  ( pictured ) will focus on further expanding the bank’s franchise, strengthening relationships with Japanese corporates, financial institutions and investors, and enhancing connectivity between Japan and  the bank ’s global network. He will report directly to  Jerome Niddam ,  chief executive officer , Asia Pacific, and will join the Asia Pacific Management Committee.   Japan plays a crucial part of Société G
