Mainland insurers will be able to invest in Hong Kong-listed exchange-traded funds (ETFs) through Stock Connect following support from China's financial regulator.
The Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) has welcomed a policy announcement from the National Financial Regulatory Administration (NFRA) supporting Mainland insurers' investment in Hong Kong ETFs via the Stock Connect programme. The policy reflects continued efforts to deepen cooperation between Mainland China and Hong Kong's financial markets The NFRA also stated that it supports Mainland insurance funds participating in mutual market access schemes between Mainland China and Hong Kong.
