Barclays' Australian issuing vehicle Celsius Investments Australia is offering a capital-protected fund providing access to international equities. Barclays Dynamic80 International Share Fund aims to protect 80% of the highest achieved value of the fund, using a volatility-based mechanism to allocate between cash and equities in the Americas, Europe, Asia, the Far East and Australia via a basket of equity-linked iShares ETFs.
"The fund has been designed in response to adviser demand for better management of asset class and portfolio volatility. One of the key lessons learned over the last few years is that equity volatility can be very damaging to an investor's outcome," said Celsius director Allen McCristal.
He said the fund is attractive as it can be administered via platforms exactly like other managed funds.
Dynamic80 International Share Fund will be distributed via independent advisers and private banks for a minimum investment of AUD10,000 ($9,290).
