Taiwan's Fubon Life Insurance is offering UBS's first structured note aimed at non-professional investors since the country's new regulations for offshore structured product issuance came into force last summer.
"UBS has been working closely with Fubon Life Insurance to structure this new UBS product. It meets not only the new local regulatory requirements but will also meet the needs of investors in the current investment climate," said Thomas Fang, UBS's MD of risk management products for Asia.
The AUD-denominated, six-year product is fully principal protected and pays a minimum 6.15% pa, according to the Swiss bank.
UBS's Taiwan country head Sean Chau said it was important to educate market participants about investment opportunities and the products available to them.
This product will appear shortly in Recent Additions (Taiwan).
