Swiss financial information portal Finanzen.ch and the country’s leading online bank Swissquote Bank SA have entered into a strategic partnership to provide investors with a platform for trading equities, structured products , funds and exchange-traded funds (ETFs).

Under the joint venture, retail investors will be able to buy shares, structured products, funds, ETFs and other financial instruments through the portal’s “Trade-it” tool, which will forward any trades directly to Swissquote Bank.

“The partnership with Swissquote is an important step towards a modern form of investment,” said Peter Schillebeeckx, founder and chief executive at finanzen.net. “We want our users seeking current quotes and news to have at the same time the added value of trading tools and direct market access. Today what is crucial is not only the speed in the supply of financial information, but also the speed of action on the basis of information.”

The partnership is aimed at providing users with a platform to access current exchange rate changes and stockmarket news as well as a fast and efficient way to perform transactions at any time to react to the changes in the market in the short term.

The new service is offered online via www.finanzen.ch as well as on the firm’s mobile website (m.finanzen.ch) and through Android and iOS apps.

Julius Baer
In addition, Julius Baer has also launched a real-time online trading platform. The Julius Baer Market Link, which is also available both as a web and mobile version, is an active and trading-orientated platform for private banking clients.

The new online trading platform will enable the bank’s clients based in Switzerland to respond instantaneously to short-term market developments, independent of their location and time zone.

A JB spokesperson told SRP that although the platform does not include trading of packaged structured products, investors can execute trades on ETFs and other derivative instruments including options and futures.

Julius Baer Market Link is an execution-only trading platform with more than 20,000 instruments across most asset classes, including equities, foreign exchange, precious metals and commodities on various exchanges worldwide.

The new online trading platform is only available for clients with Booking Centre Switzerland.
