Eric van Laer, former co-head of structured products sales at Credit Suisse in London, has been appointed head of client strategy for liquid alternatives in Europe within the bank’s new Systematic Allocation Strategies (SAS) group.
A Credit Suisse spokesperson told SRP that the London-based SAS group was formed at the beginning of March and is part of Credit Suisse Asset Management (CSAM), a division that reports to Mino Capossela, head of liquid alternative solutions.
The SAS group will work in partnership with the Swiss bank's fund-linked products and its index business.
Van Laer was in charge of structured products sales alongside Andrea Negri, who remains as sole head.
Van Laer was promoted to co-head of structured equity derivatives sales, Europe, the Middle East and Africa at Credit Suisse in November 2012, reporting to Walter Rotondo, co-head of European equities and global head of fund linked products at Credit Suisse, and to Gerry Keneally, head of European equity sales, at the time.
Van Laer originally shared responsibilities with Tom Teague, and most recently with Negri.
