Newly-formed Australian alternative fund manager Quattro Asset Management has launched its first structured investment product with full capital protection: Vault 08.
“In a market that has been characterised by volatility, Vault 08 provides certainty in terms of capital, with the comfort of one of the largest bank brand names at a fraction of the usual cost,” said CEO Andrew Saunders, who claims the product encompasses five investment strategies in the bank’s LTA Series that have never before been available to retail investors.
Vault 08 is a five-year product linked to the performance of a basket of five global investment strategies managed by UBS AG London funds.
The investment comprises a deposit of 98% initial capital and a swap with UBS AG London, which will provide exposure to the investment strategies.
“We are very pleased to have been able to deliver this and set a new benchmark in terms of investor-friendly capital-protected investment opportunities,” said Saunders. “We set out with the specific objective of developing a simple, low-cost, transparent and efficient capital-protected offer. That is, get rid of all the expensive extras features many of these products include, and provide a product that is effective, economic and user-friendly.”
The product also offers those investors with limited equity the chance to use the 100% investor loan feature to gain up to twice the exposure to the underlying basket of funds, which also means tax deductions on the interest payments. Vault 08 opened 5 May and will close 23 June. Minimum investment is AU$10,000 (US$9,367).
