Offshore law firm Mourant Ozannes has set up its first post in Asia with the opening of its Hong Kong office yesterday.

Firm partner Alex Late told SRP.com the office's three partners and team of associates will focus on structured products advisory along with investment funds as well as corporate and finance work. Late, who heads the firm's Cayman Islands business in Asia, will be joined by fellow partner Simon Lawrenson responsible for the company's Asian British Virgin Islands business.

"Many of our clients, as well as the international law firms with whom we work so closely, are based in Asia or now have significant operations in the region," said Mourant Ozannes' managing partner Jonathan Rigby. "Establishing an office in Hong Kong, the region's leading international finance centre, was an obvious strategic move for Mourant Ozannes."

Paul Christopher will be the managing partner of the Asia office which also includes senior lawyers Danielle Roman and Bronwyn King.
