Moscow-based investment bank Renaissance Capital has made seven equity derivative appointments.
Alan Woodcock, previously head of Merrill Lynch’s South African derivatives business will be head of global derivatives marketing from Moscow.Dmitry Novoselov from Dresdner and Julia Kostina from Alfa Bank, will be his deputies.
Vicente Pons from Citibank is to build the bank’s African debt and derivatives business from London, while Jim Bonfils from Standard Bank will work on the debt business in New York. Dmitry Alexeev from Dresdner and Elvira Skamara from HSB have joined the debt products group in Moscow.
The hires follow the recruitment last week of Gordon McCulloch, formerly co-head of Goldman Sachs in Moscow, now head of the Russian firm’s business in fixed income and equity derivatives, financing and commodities.
Meanwhile, also in London, the firm has hired Tim Bevan from the London Stock Exchange where he was product manager with responsibility for the ETF, ETC, structured products and covered warrants markets at the exchange, as well as being involved in product development for new trading initiatives.
