The five largest banks in Portugal reported aggregate profits of €983.1m for the first nine months of 2019, a decrease of €405.4m compared to the same period in 2018.

Novo Banco was the only bank that posted a loss (-€572.3m) with Caixa Geral de Depósitos, BCP, Santander Totta and BPI reporting a combined profit of €1.5 billion. One hundred and thirty-eight structured products  worth an estimated €53m struck in October. Of these, 132 products were turbo warrants.
