US indexed annuities provider Equitable has announced enhancements to its Structured Capital Strategies Plus registered index-linked annuity to fend off potential negative results on existing contracts.

The financial services firm launched Structured Capital Strategies as its first registered index-linked annuity in 2010. The product allows clients to participate in the performance of one of several equity market indices up to a cap. Equitable would absorb the first -10%, -20% or -30% of potential losses.
