Four industry trade groups have urged lawmakers to advance legislation to facilitate access to buffered annuities.

The American Council of Life Insurers, Committee of Annuity Insurers and National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors have called on the US Congress to act on legislation introduced in the House and Senate in May, which would lower barriers of entry for buffered annuities, commonly referred to as registered index-linked annuities (Rila).
