Some 7,760 structured products worth HKD170 billion ($21 billion) were issued on the Hong Kong SAR primary market during the second quarter of 2023.

On the secondary market, 4,548 leverage products were added. Of these, 3,366 were callable bull bear certificates (CBBC) and 1,182 warrants - a 22% decrease in issuance compared to the previous period (Q1 2023: 5,859). According to SRP data, issuance for the first half of the year was four percent lower compared to the same period last year: from 27,482 in H1 2022 to 26,256 in H1 2023.
