Citi has launched a new multi-function website that enables distributors and private investors to see the bank's panoply of structured notes and market-linked certificates of deposit (CDs). The site went live three weeks ago.
Current monthly product offerings are listed, as are previously offered structured products. A full list of secondary market notes can be searched and filtered by product type and underlyings, and investors can set email alerts for price changes and new products. Distributors can also subscribe to weekly investment ideas.
Online brochures are available for download, along with educational investment guides, for example on buffered notes. Educational videos may be added in the near future, said Carmen Binder, Citi's director of Americas marketing for retail structured products.
The website is branded with Citi's trio of blue, green and orange structured product cubes, each of which represents a different structured product risk category from full principal protection (blue) and partial capital protection (green) to full capital at risk (orange). Products are also identifiable by asset class symbols, such as the bull and the bear for equities.
Details about FDIC-insured CDs are also available.
The site allows investors and distributors to compare two products side by side, and customise a watch list of products. Products can also be sorted by degree of principal protection and/or by individual underlyings and tenors.
The website, CitiFirst.com, also allows distributors, but not clients, to access the firm's private placement list.
