Thirty structured products worth an estimated SEK331m (€32m) were added to the SRP Sweden database in August. Sales volumes of structured products in Sweden fell by 27% compared to the first eight months of 2017, with the number of new issues down by 29%. Rollover opportunities were good, with 43 products worth SEK597m maturing during August.

In addition to tranche products, 1,085 leverage products were issued, of which 512 were long and 573 short. The most active provider was Vontobel (618), followed by Commerzbank (215), BNP Paribas (195) and Societe Generale (57). Equities were used as underlying in 71% of the leverage products, followed by commodities (24%), FX rates (5%) and interest rates (1%).
