Canada’s structured products market broke the 10,000 mark in terms of number of concurrent live products as of December 31 2018, for the first time in history, SRP data shows. This represents growth of nearly 25% year-on-year.

Three-hundred and ten products struck in the final month of 2018, with an estimated C$880m (US$663m) of notional added to the market. Meanwhile, 125 products matured or autocalled, with about C$1.02 billion returned to investors, for a total outstanding notional as of the end of 2018 of C$52.36 billion.
