Following a month of increased activity in the Swiss market, March saw the number of newly striking products dwindle to 2,835, an almost 16% decrease compared to the previous monthly period.

Unsurprisingly, the number of maturing products did not immediately mirror the extent of the fluctuation, as 2,900 products released an estimated CHF1.7 billion (€1.6 billion) back into the market. Despite the noticeable drop in issuance, the first quarter of 2020 still registered almost as many new products as were made available in 2019’s equivalent quarter (9,452 compared to 10,055). Product denominations followed the trend of earlier months, as more than 95% of all new offerings
